Prayers from Pangandaran Indonesia Residents for Palestine 

PANGANDARAN WESTJAVA INDONESIA - Thousands of Pangandaran residents held a joint prayer for Palestine in Parigi Square. A number of figures, including Pangandaran Regent Jeje Wiradinata, took part in this activity. Monitoring by Indonesiasatu.co.id, Friday (17/11/2023), it appears that residents have gathered to take part in this activity since 07.00 WIB.

Those who attended consisted of residents, students, Islamic boarding school students, community leaders and elements of the Pangandaran SKPD.

Actions which carried out barbaric acts against Palestinians, demanding that the war conflict in Palestine be stopped immediately and supporting the government to submit the conflict to the international court, supporting the government for moral assistance to relieve Palestinian civil society.

Action Coordinator Usep Ependi said that this action to defend Palestine was clear proof that Pangandaran residents care and love Palestine.

"They are there jihad for the country and for religion, we are here praying and making material sacrifices for them, " said Usep in the middle of his action, Friday (17/11/2023). 

Apart from that, Usep invited all parties present to offer prayers and echo the takbir. They unite in prayer and takbir.

There were 11 position statements from the time of the action to defend Palestine which were echoed, including strongly condemning Israel's actions which carried out barbaric acts against Palestinians, demanding that the war conflict in Palestine be stopped immediately and supporting the government to submit the conflict to the international court, supporting the government for moral assistance to relieve Palestinian civil society.

Then, the mass action also strongly opposed Israeli politics and asked the Islamic state to cancel diplomatic cooperation with Israel until the Palestinian state became independent.

He also demanded that the UN prioritize humanitarian issues by taking immediate steps to prevent the increase in the number of victims and support the efforts of the Indonesian and international governments in resolving the conflict between the two countries. 

On the same occasion, Pangandaran Regent Jeje Wiradinata said he was concerned about the heinous actions committed by Israel against Palestine.

"Many people died, children, adults, almost every day someone died, " he said. 

According to Jeje, defending Palestine there are 4 obligations that must be understood. "We remember that in 1945 the State of Palestine was the first to recognize Indonesian independence, " he said. 

Apart from that, Jeje reminded us that colonial constitutional duties in the world must be abolished.

"Then our duty as Muslims is to protect fellow Muslims, so let's come together to jihad for Palestine, which is part of Muslims, we are part of Palestine, leave party a, party b, to defend Palestine, " he said. 

Meanwhile, MUI Pangandaran Chairman Otong Aminuddin invited all mosque imams to carry out Qunut Nazilah today. "Why should we care about Palestine, because the Aqsa Mosque is the heartbeat of the world's struggle, " he said during his oration.

Otong also invited the protesters to pray together. While under the hot sun, Otong led the istighosah. After the oration, Otong invited all during the action to be domiciled and help ease the burden on civil society.

Also present at the event were Pangandaran Regent Jeje Wiradinata, Pangandaran Regional Secretary Kusdiana, DPRD Chair Asep Noordin, MUI Chair Otong Aminuddin, Head of the Ministry of Religion Yayan Herdiana and all SKPD Heads. (Anton AS)
